Fluvioglacial deposits are widespread in areas of recent and old glaciation. They are represented by different-type sediments accumulated in on-land and basin environments. Submarine deposits of ice-contact fans are the most specific ones among them. They represent a significant element of glaciomarine deposits and are comprehensively studied in uplifted (in terms of glacial isostasy) modern continental areas and in some fjords. We revealed such ice-contact fans in offshore areas on the glacial shelf of the Barents Sea.
