The southeast margin of the Baltic shield is a typical Archean granite-greenstone region and, in many respects, resembles analogous Precambrian structures in other regions. We have obtained new data on age relationships, geochemical types and ore potential of these granitoid rocks. We regard rocks of the rhyolite-plagiogranite complex as a potential source of copper, tungsten and other metals, and the plumasitic leucogranites as one of tin, tantalum and niobium.
