THE PECULIARITIES OF INTRACONTINENTAL OROGENY (CENTRAL ASIAN MOUNTAIN BELT AS AN EXAMPLE)

Abstract

The description of Central-Asian mountain belt history since Late Proterozoic is given. The lateral crustal movements in the region correlate with process of mountain building on different hierarchical levels. On the basis of morphostructural analysis 6 orogenic stages are distinguished in the Middle Asia and Eastern Kazakhstan.
