We describe a method of modeling body waves in anisotropic media of arbitrary symmetry, which can be used to reduce the solution of steady-state problems to integrals with respect to the horizontal wave slowness that contain the necessary information on azimuthal anisotropy. We also present the results of asymptotic and numerical analysis of the field of a point source in a homogeneous anisotropic medium. It is shown that the type of emission from a point source is very sensitive to the presence of anisotropy. Most of the information on anisotropy is contained in the quasiperiodic-wave field.
