| dc.description.abstract | The north of European Russia including the Murmansk Region contains unique mineral resources. Many mining, processing, and smelting enterprises, the largest in Russia, are situated in the Murmansk Region, recovering annually millions of tons of rocks and ores to the surface, ejecting and discharging thousands of tons of contaminants, including highly toxic metal and organic compounds, into the atmosphere and water areas and streams. | |
