STRUCTURIZATION OF THE GEOLOGICAL MEDIUM AND THE PHYSICAL MECHANISM OF FAULTING

Abstract

The mechanism of faulting is examined with reference to traditional models, and a model of the physical mechanisms of faulting in a hierarchically structured roughly heterogeneous geological medium is presented. The study is linked with earthquake prediction.
