A REGULAR METHOD FOR THE CALCULATION OF THE ENDOGENIC COMPONENT OF EUROPIUM ABUNDANCE IN ORE
Аннотация
A very large body of information about the abundance of rare earth elements (REE) as geochemical indicators and Eu anomalies as geochemical criteria of ore-forming systems is available. At the same time, the nature of these anomalies remains intricate, and attempts to unravel it have resulted only in the qualitative recognition of separate REE distribution fields as a function of their Eu anomalies. In the present communication, an attempt is made to represent the Eu abundance as a sum of endogenic (cosmic) and exogenic (chemical) components and develop a regular method for calculation of the endogenic component. This attempt is based on two postulations. First, the REE abundance in ores and rocks is a result of the concentration of the elements contained in a primordial material, i.e., in the cosmic dust of the Solar System. Second, the well-known Harkins rule can be presented in algebraic form.
