The Kalna Massif incorporates a specific PGM mineral assemblage. Data on analogous ophiolite complexes in other regions of the world [3] suggest a comercial significance of the Kalna PGM mineralization characterized by the prevalence of Pd-rich Pt-Fe-Cu alloys, diversity of mineral phases. and multistage character of evolution. The late hydrothermal stages of the Kalna Massif include Pd- and Rh-rich minerals that are atypical of alpine-type ultrabasic rocks. The discovered Pt-chromite mineralization can be considered a new and important source of PGMs in Russia.
