PALEOZOIC BRACHIOPOD ASSEMBLAGES OF THE WEST SIBERIAN LOWLAND
Аннотация
The Upper Ordovician-Lower Carboniferous brachiopod assemblages are described and the basic framework of the Paleozoic stratigraphy in the West Siberian Lowland is substantiated by the stratigraphic distribution of these fossils. A long-term biogeographic connection of the West Siberian basin with southern basins of the Salair and Altai Mountains and also with northern basins of the Vaigach, Taimyr, and Siberian platforms is suggested. It was shown that analogues of biostratigraphic units that are established in the indicated orogenic areas can be also defined, based on brachiopod assemblages, in the Paleozoic sequences of the West Siberian Lowland.
