К 170-ЛЕТИЮ ТЕРМИНА "РОГОВАЯ ОБМАНКА"

Abstract

The etymology of the Russian term «роговая обманка» (rogovay obmanka), appeared in 1830 as a result of literal translation from the German «hornblende» is discussed. It is offered to abolish the term «роговая обманка» by replacing it on the term «горнблендит» with use only as the root name. It is offered to include into the nomenclature of amphiboles two final members described by the prevalence Fe3+ above Al in the L position: ferrimagnesiohomblende and ferriferrohomblende. The names of these end members are given according to rules MMA 97. The chemical analyses of these amphiboles were published in Russian literature and presented in this work with their the formulas.
