THE HISTORICAL SEQUENCE OF JURASSIC AND CRETACEOUS ICHTHYOSAURS

Abstract

Jurassic and Cretaceous ichthyosaurs revealed changes in the family and subfamily composition in Stenopterygiidae and Ichthyosaurinae (Lias), Ophthalmosaurinae and Stenopterygiidae (Bajocian-Kimmeridgian), Undorosaurinae and Ophthalmosaurinae (Tithonian, Volgian Age), and Platypterygiinae (ValanginianCenomanian).
